Vasari hotel is born from the restructuring of the ancient monastery of S.Antonio from Vienne, built in the second half of 16th century that belonged to the so-called “Friars of the fire”. In the past century the structure has resumed its function of welcoming place of residence, no more for pilgrims in travel towards the holy places, but for travellers and tourists at the discovery of the beauties of the city. This Florence 3-star hotel maintains still the magic of its past. The vaulted ceilings, characterizing the common areas at the reception floor, testimony the original destination to monastery of the structure. The sandstone fireplace, in the large breakfasts room, once the refectory of the monastery, date back to the 16th century and represents one of the little decorative elements of the austere original structure.
