Aisia Derio was built following ecological principles of bioconstruction and energetic self-sufficiency which includes the use of solar panels to harness the energy of the sun. It is the only hotel in the Basque Country to be classified as ´ecological’ in terms of energy assessment. Built in keeping with the typical architecture of the area, the hotel was designed by Juan Gorriti, including sculptures and paintings in the common areas, a magnificent bookcase and hand-painted headboards depicting scenes from everyday life. The hotel restaurant also houses a museum featuring exhibits used by our ancestors to forge the history of the Basque Country. The hotel avails of a restaurant, cafeteria, exterior terrace, lounge-library, free WIFI coverage and Internet connections, catering and room service, conference rooms and a spa (relaxation facilities as well as booths for massages, wraps and skin and beauty treatments). We also have free exterior parking.Aisia Derio has 38 rooms, all exterior and equipped with a minibar, free room safe, TV, free WIFI coverage, full bathroom with hydromassage bath (expect for the disabled room, which is fitted with a hydromassage shower). Aisia Derio is ideally located just ten minutes from Bilbao city centre and the Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC), and a mere five minutes from the Bilbao-Loiu international airport. With a capacity for 300 diners, our restaurant is the ideal place for any type of celebration.We offer a wide selection of dishes, both traditional and nouvelle Basque cuisine, prepared using only the freshest and best quality produce. Aisia Derio offers you its spa facilities, for a maximum of eight people per hour, in which you can enjoy a jacuzzi, sauna, infra-red heat bed, steam room, hot and cold alternating power shower and booths in which you can have a massage, skin treatment and everything you need in the line of beauty.
