In the South of Lithuania there is a town called Druskininkai well – known as a sanative resort with traditions lasting more than 200 years. Jacques Lipchitz (1891-1973) a jewish sculptor and modernist was one of those famous artists who was born in Druskininkai. His parents were the owners of the first hotel situated in Druskininkai under the name of Central. Today after more than 100 years this hotel has been renovated and is looking forward to welcome the guests again. The museum founded in memory of Leipchitz is located in front of the hotel Central and is opened only summer.
